I suspect that Mark is your man for answers on some of the questions. I know _nothing_ about Macs,
having only ever used PCs. I'll answer what I can.
I only know of Norton Personal Firewall by name, and know little about it. http://www.symantec.com
is the company, where you should be able to get all the information you need about their products.
Remember you'd need the Macintosh versions.
I suspect that this virus would not have harmed your Mac. Most viruses tend to target PCs, and don't
have any effect on Macs. ***Of course, this shouldn't be used as an excuse not to have
protection...***
Sorry - force of habit in referring to an email client. It just means the front-end program you use
to read/send emails. It's to do with data being held on a server and being accessed through an
intermediary program rather than directly.
