What Key?

Overheard at a get together.

There was this band where one of them was playing wrong notes.
The leader went over to him, and looked at his music. "Take out one
sharp in the signature".

Just before starting again, the guy with the "wrong" notes piped up and
asked:
"Which sharp should I take out?"
