Kent,
There's no "terminology" necessary anymore. If you start at http://www.sneezy.org/Databases/Composers/index.html you can click on the "Instrumentation" part and follow it down via more or less standard orcestral instrument layout - or click on "number of performers", select "3", and drill down to your combination. The search section is more for a full text search when you only know a word or two of a title, etc.
