Dear Roger,
I'm going to get that book. I believe that my mother may have been
a "bulldozer" and a "sniper" as well. You made my day. I had to practice
very hard for a couple of days so that I can be a good example to my
students. I "play along" with them quite a bit so that I can (hopefully)
instill a good concept of clarinet playing. When I came home and
checked my email, I had 120 messages from sneezy, and my saved email
had such a pile-up that I had to go back and erase many of my "saved"
messages, many of them from "experts". When we moved into our beautiful
new home about a year ago, my husband forbade me to have a coffee table
in front of the TV as it was always stacked to the ceiling with
"essential" paperwork. Now that the coffee table is gone, the email has
gotten so out of control that I can't find anything.
I have always prided myself in having no connections with akademia,
but I may have to apply to grad school just to get away from my
addiction to this email, maybe get back into a serious routine of
practice & clarinet study, my 2 favorite loves next to live
performances.
