Dear Tony,

There is no question about your extraordinary skill as a classical
clarinetist. There is no question about your knowledge of, and your ability
to play period music on period instruments.

The above clip does suggest lack of understanding and appreciation for jazz
and its constituent parts.

Why would anyone in their right mind compare your superb playing to that of
a jazz artist? Why would a person from one discipline (namely yourself)
compare subjectively music of your discipline to music that is out of your
realm?

I do agree that many players of either discipline cannot cross over, so to
speak, but the music on both sides of the fence are worthy of attention.

If I have taken your comments wrong, please correct me.
