In my opinion, tone production has quite a bit to do with how much air can
and should be packed into the lungs. One of the major roadblocks to good
sound production for many students is that they do not have enough air
going in to properly support the air going out.

From my perspective, manipulation of the air stream on the way out is
significantly affected by how much air is in the lungs.
