If you *lounge*, it's difficult to play well. But I don't think it's
impossible, if you understand the principles involved; and I once heard
that slow tenor aria in 'Cosi' fan tutte' -- can't remember what it's
called -- sung most beautifully, with the singer reclining on a couch.

They did a live TV performance of 'Figaro' recently, in a country house
near Oxford, spread out over the day so that the performance in 'real
time' matched the timing of the opera. The orchestra was in a studio,
and relayed to the singers, who wore mikes. And they climbed trees, and
did all sorts of things that *should* have made them sing rather badly.
But they didn't.

How about Suzee Stephens, who has to *dance* while she plays?

And, anyone read 'A soprano on her head', by Eloise Ristad?
