Sorry, I can't agree with this statement. I am aware that there are many
musicians who have been taught or indoctrinated that they must always stand
to perform, but I don't believe there is any basis in fact for this
procedure. We tend to believe that it is better to stand because "everyone
does it" or "everyone knows" that it is preferable. I feel that I play
better when seated. I also am somewhat unorthodox in that I believe that
our breath capacity and control may be better when seated.

I have seen Robert Marcellus seated when playing a concerto with the
Cleveland Orchestra, and Tony Gigliotti seated when playing solos with the
Philadelphia Orchestra. Pretty good examples, I would say.
