Bill, it is an articleabout 8 cm long, looks like a fluffy bottlebrush, and mops
up the moisture as you insert it into the mouthpiece; I do it fro both ends. It
does not reside in the mouthpiece. To me its action seems more gentle than a
compressed swab.
