This has been the subject of heated discussion on the list before. There
are those of us who disagree with your position. Unless you are swabbing
with sandpaper, I think the degree of damage likely to be caused to the
mouthpiece by careful swabbing is about the same as the destruction visited
upon the plating by wiping down the keys with a soft cloth.
