Subject: [kl] WW&BW in Manhattan

I dropped in two months ago to WW&BW in Manhattan (23rd Street), to find a
new mouthpiece. I had just re-started after 28 years off. My instructor
mentioned that he felt that my mouthpiece (Selmer B*) would be a problem,
and recommended that I try a few out. Prices? for Vandorens $50.00 range,
reeds Vandoren $12.95 for 10. Cheaper than any of the mail-order places
after shipping.

They had many mouthpieces, I stuck to the under $100.00 set, and blew my
brains out for 3 1/2 hours. I would call ahead to ensure that they have
what you want, as this is stock that they sanitize and let you play, and
then sell so the inventory is always rolling over.

As a sidenote, it was neat to be hearing (this was a Monday), "Juliard on
line one",
"Met on line one", "Carnegie for xxx on line 3".
