I would suggest Clarinet Quartet as the third one. Unfortunately, some of
my very favorite CDs are still available, but Clarinet Masquerade Thurston
Clarinet Quartet. ASV and Clarinet Evergreens Budapest Clarinet Quintet.
Naxos (ok it is a quintet) are very good.

I have been asked by a friend to recommend a few CDs for their son who
is taking up clarinet. The idea is to boost the appreciation and
interest level for this 10-year-old. My thought was to recommend 3 CDs,
one classical, one jazz and one something else (rock? dixieland? crazy
ensemble stuff?). I was thinking something like Stoltzman's Aria for
classical (I love the Bizet stuff), Eddie Daniels for jazz, and maybe
Jim Cullam's Riverwalk dixieland stuff.
I am sure the list has many different ideas (flame-proof suit on), but
these are some of the CDs I have and like. So...Give me your top 3
combos for the wish list!
