Bill's right. When I took pads out of the new Vito bass clarinet my son had,
I found pad cement only in the corners of some of the cups--not a full bed of
glue--and it was that flexible stuff--not French cement or stick shellac.
When I replaced what was there with a full bed of cement and the pad was in
straight, the horn was improved dramatically.
