Sorry if I was misunderstood. What I meant was if a player became accustomed
to breathing through his nose, he would be at a disadvantage if for any
reason his nasal passages became clogged. Where I reside people get colds,
the flu and are subject to allergies.
I do believe that breathing through the nose would be less disruptive to the
embouchure, but I find it difficult to fill my lungs quickly in this manner.
My problem is I have always taken in air through the corners of my mouth and
I mistakenly assumed everybody did it in that manner.
I apologize for being so closed minded and I would appreciate your
reposting of your original e-mail on this subject because it was deleted
prematurely.
