Long though Neil's post was, I don't think it "off-topic" to discuss on-list what is appropriate
(indeed with plenty reference to teaching methodology). The majority of posts on klarinet are
related to music, instruments, etc. but there are some others. Feel free to delete these without
reading more than a few lines.
We have a great many contributors who have a breadth of knowledge (not just the professionals). Such
a knowledge base is invaluable. I posted a question a couple of weeks back about a set-list of 4
very modern (late 20th Century) pieces, none of which I knew and only one of which I had actually
heard of. I got a most helpful reply (from Mike Bryant) describing each piece. I have now chosen one
of these to work on.
If you want to know anything specific, just ask. If someone on the list can answer, they will. If
you want to just sit back and read the discussion, I guarantee you will find some of the posts
really helpful, most of the posts interesting, and only a few neither helpful nor interesting.
Also, the archives can be a great source of information.
