I haven't been following this thread carefully but I would like to add my recent
experience with R-13 plating. Two years ago I purchased a new R-13. At this
point all of the ring keys have corroded and some of the rods are exposing the
copper beneath the plating. What's unusual is that my older R-13's don't have
this problem. All of my R-13's are nickel plated. This leads me to believe that
Buffet is doing something different and it isn't good. Also after playing my
finger tips will have dark rings on them from the key rings.
