I have used two Legeres. I use them as back-ups. Everyone is different, but
the reeds seem a little "buzzy." I tried to adjust one and it never did play
right. It is my understanding that you must sand from the butt to the tip
only and if you go the other direction, it will mess up the reed. I sanded
in the proper direction, but the reed I worked on was still not right for me.
Another good use of the Legere is if you have to make a fast instrumrent
change and do not have time to wet your reed. The Legere plays without
wetting it. The reeds do seem to soften somewhat after about 30 minutes of
playing. I don't know if any other people have had similar experiences, but
those are mine. Some people really like them and others hate them. I am kind
of in the middle.
