I used Legeres for a while. My only problem was that they seemed to bend
after a while, making the mouthpiece feel closed and uncomfortable. I do
think they are better than any synthetic reed I have heard of, and many don't
have the "bending" problem that I have. It doesn't help that my mouthpiece
has a curved table and I am sure that curve is designed with cane in mind. I
have had a few students who use them, and I do feel that cane works better,
overall. Some pros can really make them sound like cane, but most students
can't.
