It's an *inverse function* of the degree of flexion of the player's
diaphragm, of course -- the more diaphragm flexion, the quieter the
tone, for given abdominal flexion.

The article "All that stuff about the diaphragm" is actually much
too prolix, trying to deal with the subject of playing metaphors at the
same time as the subject of support, and I think I'll chop it up in the
near future.
