OK, I'm going to jump in right here. I can relate to "less breathy," I think.
I have an image of 'less bright,' but I'm having problems with "fewer random"
overtones. What, pray tell, are random overtones? Are 'random' overtones
overtones you don't like? Do only a few individuals produce random overtones?
And what overtones are "characteristic?"
