The French word "depose" is the equivalent of the English term "trade
mark." Assuming there is further marking on the instrument, that is where
the answer will lie. If it is a Selmer, and is so marked, it will be a
professional grade instrument. By serial number, again assuming Selmer,
you should be looking at an instrument made around 1953.
