Of course you are welcome. I had a teacher when I was in HS who told us
we could ask any question we wanted, as long as it wasn't a "stupid
question." When asked what a "stupid question" was, he replied, "Any
question that I don't know the answer to!" ;^)
The thing with this list is that there will be no such thing as a
"stupid question," because someone on this list will probably know the
answer to any question imaginable.
I once had a student who started the clarinet at 64, then started
doubling sax at 69. I learned so much from her. 40 isn't too old to
start anything; in fact it's the perfect age, as far as I'm concerned.
(I just turned 40)
