I hope beginners such as myself are welcome here to learn and to ask a
question or two. If not, just let me know and I will settle into
lurkdom, soaking up the knowledge and enjoying the conversation of the
more accomplished clarinetists.

Stephanie, take it from someone who joined the List after only one
or two weeks of beginner's clarinet lessons --- you *will* be made
welcome by most of the people here. There is always a grumpus or two
in every gathering of people, but 99.99% of the people here are friendly
and -- equally as important -- they are supportive if you appear to be
sincere.

You *will* learn ten times as much here if you offer up your own
opinions and ask your own questions, rather than just lurking. How
else will the other people know exactly which things you don't
understand yet <big! grin!> if you don't make some statements of your
own?

Perhaps it's appropriate for me to warn you, however, that the
people on this list truly care about music in general and about clarinet
music in particular. Like any other human being, they get ticked
sometimes when they hear something that they don't agree with.
(Believe me, I know from my own experience.) But if you don't talk,
you'll never.... well, you'll never have any conversations.

Welcome to the Klarinet list,
Bill
