Dear Klarinet Friends,
Yesterday when I went to the studio to teach my students, (all are
beginners who started around Sept. 1) I brought my new SONY boom-box to
the lesson and "performed" some of my single-act tunes for them just to
see how they liked it. I played a couple of my easier pop tune
arrangements, like Moody Blues "Knights in White Satin" and the "Titanic
Theme" (ouch. It really should have been released as a clarinet solo.)
Then I played "Moondance" on the flute. Well, the kids all wanted CD's
of my arrangements, and I am in the process now of "manufacturing" them.
I would be curious to see if anybody out there would ever be interested
in such a product to use for their students. I can honestly say that all
of my arrangements sound absolutely terrific. I did them all by "ear" on
the ENSONIQ SD-1 Synthesizer & sequencer. For some reason, I have a real
knack for sequencing, even though I would probably flunk any college
course in basic electronic music. I think I inherited this knack from my
father, the late "Scotty" Lenoir, who was an awesome Naval band
director, trombone soloist and band arranger. If anybody wants to hear
fragments of my sequences, I am located at:
www.citystar.com/ramlinannie
(Please notice that "ramlin" does not have a "b" in it. My married last
name is "ramler"). ANNIE
