If you emailers would spend more time in the practice room, practicing
those notes

Darn it, I hate to get angry, but what would you have me practice,
Doug and Roger? Notes the meaning of which I didn't understand?

Also, keep in mind that this thread did not begin as a critique.
The bit about the N.Y. Times and your own 20 years of professional
experience (I'm glad for you!) is your own off-topic addition to this
thread.

This thread began because I was trying to write something, and it
wasn't clear to me how to write it so that someone else would understand
my intent. Also, Brahms' intent in the Sonata No. 2 quintuplet was not
clear to me. Experienced professionals here offered different opinions
about it as well. The fact that various alternatives were proposed
indicates that the subject deserved discussion.

Actually, I _have_ been practicing triplets and Klose finger
twisters for the last 90 minutes, and now I will return to my
practice... which I enjoy, by the way.
