Follow up.

My friend didn't buy them. He just told the guy that he would have to
run it past a repairman who advises them on such matters (me). They were
dumb enough to leave them.

The school and the band director DID report it to the local police. Why
didn't it get on the NCIC list?

The school did get a replacement bassoon. It was insured, but it was a
$1,000 out of pocket deal for the school. (I told the band director that
the recovered bassoon now, less the $1,000 deductible, belonged to the
insurance company.)

It was two, fairly young men who brought the instruments into the store.
They were driving a brand now, bright red, Dodge Ram truck. Go figure!

Like I said, I'll get back "With the Rest of the Story."
