OK, that's obvious about the third of a beat longer. But I'm having
difficulty with the three overlapping brackets Tony sketched out.

"Space notation" may be the wrong term. I've played "space notation" for
instance with a tape. The tape sounds are indicated in one staff and the
seconds in time are indicated and the staff with the clarinet part has the
notes at the approximate place in the bar where they should come. Is that
clear enough?
