-------------------------------------------
I am definitely not an expert on flutter tonguing, but if there is
one on this list please step forward. The type of flutter tonguing
that Fiona Cross uses is with the rolled 'r'. I though that this was
used almost universally when 'flatterzunge', - 'fruttalo'*, (*a
milkshake? ), -
'vibrato linguale' or 'tremolo avec la tongue' is marked;
(e.g. Berg Vier Stuecke Opus 5 , Francaix Tema con Variazioni).

In the Clarinet Concerto Op 82 (1972) by the Hungarian but Dutch-
domiciled composer Geza Frid (1904-?), written for George Pieterson,
the soloist is asked to play E flat, B flat, A and bass clarinets.
But that is not enough. The score requires a 'Frullato speciale'
which, when broadcast in the USA, prompted an investigation,
reported by the announcer, as to how it was done. Expert opinion
was sought, but without success. It sounds very spectacular,
like a trill and growl combined...
