Re: Richard Stoltzman's B-flat Clarinet:
You're both right. It is a Buffet which was "hand finished," meaning bore
and tone hole modification, by his teacher Kalmen Opperman, who also makes
Stoltzman's mouthpieces and barrels. Re-padding was done by George
Opperman, who is a highly respected piccolo and bass flute maker in S. Bend,
Indiana. When George was in New York, he worked on Artie Shaw's clarinets,
among many others.
