Don`t quite know what you mean Bill, but to end a sequence of triplets <on>
a single triplet note would be:- One triplet quaver followed by two quavers
rests, all enclosed within the bracket including a "3" over the top. Another
way (simpler) would be to write one staccato quaver, followed by one
quaver`s rest. The last note does not strictly have to be a follow thru` of
the "same" note values. It needs to convey mearly that it has to be "short".
There`s no strict science where musical notation is concerned. As long as
the "message" from composer to performer is conveyed, then that last note
could be a monkey.

I was once present at a TV audition many years ago, when the next artiste
supplied his own pianist. He put his music up on the piano, and as I looked,
I saw that it was a stiff board measuring about 4 ft x 3ft. On it in a
series of rows, was his own series of "pictures". Obviously his own method,
created by himself. I tried to collar him afterwards, but he was most
unforthcoming.

The artiste didn`t qualify.
