Hi Nancy,
I am performing the Capricco by Sutermeister (in exam
first) later this year. It is a wonderful piece full
of challenges although much of it seems to fit nicely
under the fingers. Although I can't furnish you with
much more information about the piece itself (Apart
from it having been written in 1947 for an
international Concours (in Geneva by all accounts) and
is specisified for unaccompanied A Clarinet). I can
tell you that Heinrich Sutermeister is a Swiss
Composer who studied in Basle, Paris and Munich. He
taught composition at Hanover Hochcscule in the mid
60's through to the mid 70's. His influences are Verdi
and Orff!
