ago, who pierced his tongue and defended the practice. We debated
disturbances of the air flow and so forth. My memory is that this
particular person removed the barbell when he played.
Personally, I think it's a miserable idea, but I know a teenager
(who sings) who did it and survives.
My daughter, however, knows a pre-teen ager who suffered tongue
damage from a barbell that tore the flesh, but this had nothing to do
with playing a musical instrument. So there is an element of risk, but
not a certainty.
