I'm seeing music, instrumental music, vocal music and, in general, all fine
arts being pared down to nubbins in many school districts. Football and
basketball seem to survive, but those higher human activities that seem to
be either mans' gifts or his greatest frustrations are being cut out of
education. Vouchers to schools that don't offer these "frills" seem to be
making headway.

Are we going in the right direction?
