Tony,
I feel the same way as Roger Garrett regarding the significance of your
recording of the Mozart Concerto. As a clarinet teacher, clarinet geek and
a former Tower Records employee, I have over 20 recordings of the concerto
(which I know is not all of them). I always recommend your recording
because I believe that it is a liberating experience to listen to. Many of
the other recordings are articulated the same way, within 4 beats per
minute of each other, etc. Yours is different, unique and thought
provoking. Personally, I would like to thank you for making the recording,
becoming fluent on all those forked fingerings with the intent of making it
as authentic as one can - two hundred years after the fact. I like your
Spohr Concerto lp too, but that's a whole nother can of worms!
