I prefer conversation with anybody who says anything interesting! The
internationality of the list is one of the things I especially enjoy about
it. For instance, this thread was started by Tony Pay in England, and it and
its variants have been answered (as of Digest #2658) by two people from the
UK, three from the USA, one from Australia and one whose nationality I don't
know (Allen J. Levin).

I think some of us who feel too ignorant to contribute to a
nationality-specific thread nevertheless may silently learn a lot from it.
On the threads about the characteristics of various brands of instruments,
it's been great to hear from European players with knowledge of clarinets
made in European countries other than France. I knew nothing about the
Oehler system and would still know nothing about it, if not for the European
contributors.
