Clarinet Faculty Vacancy

Position: Assistant Professor of Music - Clarinet. This is a =
full-time,
tenure-track position, beginning August, 2001.

Responsibilities: =20
=B7 Teach studio clarinet and related course work (literature of the
applied major, pedagogy of the applied major, clarinet ensemble)
=B7 Maintain an active performance schedule at the national level
=B7 Teach in a secondary area (music management, music technology, =
band)

=B7 Serve as academic advisor, serve on departmental and university
committees as appropriate, recruit prospective students, and other
appropriate responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications: Doctorate or ABD preferred, MM required. Experienced,
outstanding artist-performer. University-level teaching experience
desirable.

Information: The University of Evansville Department of Music =
currently has
120 undergraduate music majors with degree programs in Music Education,
Music Therapy, Music Management, Performance, and General Studies =
(Bachelor
of Arts). The Department is a full member of the National Association =
of
Schools of Music. Instruction on every major instrument and voice is
provided by 17 full-time and 12 part-time instructors. The 50-member
University Orchestra performs a series of concerts in the newly =
renovated
2000-seat Victory Theatre in downtown Evansville. As part of an =
ongoing
major ensemble tour program, the University Wind Ensemble tours every =
three
years. The Music Management degree is fully accredited by NAMM.

The University of Evansville is an independent, selective admissions
university located in a growing metropolitan community of more than =
300,000
in southwestern Indiana. It offers a comprehensive program of =
instruction
including liberal arts and sciences, engineering, business, nursing,
physical therapy and education. Enrollment numbers approximately 2500
full-time students. The University also includes a campus in England,
