Several people on this list have a C clarinet. I have a Noblet 45C that I
got off of Ebay a couple of years ago after looking for months. It was in
spectacularly good condition.

Buffet is now selling an E-11C which is less expensive than a new Noblet,
the Noblet now runs about $1450 from the Woodwind and the Brasswind. I
think the Buffet will still run you close to $1000.

If you post on various music sites that you are looking for a C clarinet and
watch Ebay carefully, sooner or later one will turn up. Expect to pay more
than you would for a Bb.

It isn't particularly harder than a Bb clarinet to play. It's a little bit
smaller. C clarinets have a reputation for intonation problems. I like
mine fine. My sax teacher, who also plays clarinet, asked to play it one
time and he said he thought the sound lacked a "center". I don't agree I
think it was just his bias.
