Bill,
If you're after quarter tones there are a couple of different
possibilities. I think they're in the Gardner Read book or just about any
20th century notation book. (In the Rehfeldt too I think). In these cases
the alterations are made in the accidental. Andrea uses one method but the
use of arrows is pretty common as well. There is a site.... but I'm
getting a 404. I just sent the webmaster a note and as soon as I get the
right address I'll post it to the list. If you only want a small change
you can make up your own notation and put a key at the beginning of the piece.
