Ian Black asked:

<<<Does anyone know if they make non-gummed cigarette papers?>>>

and Neil responded:

<<<Yes, "they" do. Zig-Zags come in both gummed and ungummed packages.
Since my package of gummed papers (holding them in front of me right now) is
white, it must be the orange package that contains ungummed cigarette
papers.>>>

to which Ian noted:

<<<Alas, you guys seem to have _everything_ in the US. We here in Britain
aren't so privileged.....>>>

For whatever reason, I guess we United Statesians just are a bigger market
for cigarette papers! <wink>

I keep a pack ungummed papers in my case. I can't remember who made them,
but recall that they're from Italy. Since that's your side of the big pond,
they may be available at your more bohemian smoke shops?

The habit of keeping cigarette papers in the case caused me a good bit of
trouble once. I went to Western Washington University for a while; it's in
a small town just south of the Canadian border, and Vancouver B.C. is a wee
bit closer than Seattle. One weekend, some friends and I went up to
Vancouver to get our horns worked on (and maybe partake of some good
Canadian beer). Coming back into the U.S., the customs inspectors were
quite excited to find cigarette papers in my case; they leaped to the
conclusion that I also possessed something to stuff into them! Fortunately,
the oboe guy had even more papers than I did, plus all the little knives and
doohickeys in his kit that were taken for paraphernalia -- I was not the
only one singled out. But it did take a couple of hours to get back on the
road.
