Thank you all for the help. This is perhaps the 4th or 5th time
that I've forgotten the fundamental fact that putting down more than the
minimum number of fingers can help in several different ways.
I suppose there is an article that focuses on this particuar point
somewhere on Sneezy or OCR; but from a beginner's perspective, if there
isn't, there should be.
