All I would add to Shouryu's post (good post, btw, Mr. S - always keep it
simple - you would make a great teacher, if you don't already teach
privately)
is to keep up the air support all through this evolution here. What a lot
of beginners do is attempt, even with this trick of keeping fingers down, to
slide into the higher notes by pinching their lips and, for some strange
reason, backing off of their air. Do NOT do this. Keep the embouchure
consistent and the air consistent and supported abdominally. That plus what
has been described fingering wise, practiced over and over (as you already
are aware!) will give you the truly seamless slurs you desire.
