<< Our flute, clarinet, bassoon trio is in need of some *good* arrangements
of Christmas music. Any recommendations? I'll have to order the music sight
unseen, so I'm trusting the collective judgment of the list members. Many
thanks for your help.>>
Richard, last year our trio (same instrumentation) purchased the "Traditional
Christmas Music" volume of the "Music for Three" series, arranged by local
Los Angeles arranger Daniel Kelly and published by Last Resort Music
Publishing, Inc. 11288 Ventura Boulevard,#820, Studio City, CA 91604 (800)
762-0966. We have been fans of his other arrangements but this is perhaps
his best. It's difficult to describe the subtle nuances of his Traditional
Christmas Music arrangements, but they are arranged almost as much or more
for the enjoyment of the players, as they are for the audience. We never had
the opportunity to play any of the works in live performance, but we did
spend many hours just playing them for our own enjoyment. Can't recommend
them enough.
