Check out the following site. It might just suit your needs.

You can print out your stuff or have your students access it online. You
don't need to buy any software either.

Other possibilities are Noteworthy Composer, a shareware program that you
can download online, or PrintMusic!, a scaled down version of Finale. Both
Noteworthy Composer and PrintMusic! are quite inexpensive.
