If you're getting blisters, I would un-stick his method. :P

I use felt tip pen. It's faster, a million times easier on my hands, and by
varing the angle of the pen, I can get thin for stems and bar lines, and fat
for noteheads and beams. For the occasional mistake, a smear of whiteout is
good enough. Why make it publish-perfect? Even if you are going to publish
it, it's going to be re-printed anyway.

And quite honestly, for most of the materials I am going to use to teach, I
copy with a copier from whatever out of print source I'm using. I just can't
see wasting my time re-writing that which has already been written (unless of
course it has to be transposed, wherein comes my trusty Flair pen).

For programs, I'm partial to Finale's current font. Very readable. I'm also
excited about the capability to read scanned music in and manipulate it,
which I've just started to play around with.
