Thank-you Bill. That's very helpful. I will look up those tunes,
although I know a couple of them by ear, and I will add them to Avery's
"Pennywhisle Pages". I finally called EBLE MUSIC and found that Mel Bay
does indeed have a children's pennywhistle book. I did order it, but I
am having so much fun writing out pages each week, that I will continue
this adventure.
By the way, does anybody out there have to do a lot of manuscript
writing to prepare for their students? I do, and I am starting to get
sick and tired of it. I have a blister on my right index finger. What is
a good computer program for writing nice BOLD manuscript for woodwinds?
Until I can switch over to the computer, I am using Paper Mate
mechanical pencils, staff paper and a ruler. My master copies are just
gorgeous! Mr. Drummond, my music theory teacher Freshman & Sophomore
year at Oberlin, would be astounded! I had a great ear, but rebelled
against "Writing & Analysis". However, the 2 days that Mr. Drummond
chose to teach us how to write on staff paper, have stuck with me.
ANNIE
