If the object of ensemble is to give the student experience in performing
in a group, I would think choir would be sufficient. Is voice a declared
MINOR instrument? That would be another factor in favor. Is it really so
much different from, say, majoring in clarinet but performing in a band on
bass clarinet, or saxophone?
