Gary - I don't think so. I've tried cleaning up old reeds, and it hardly
does anything for them. I've even tried clipping maybe 3/4" off the tip and
recutting the vamp, but it doesn't help. I think what happens is that the
structure of the cane gets broken down by vibration rather than getting
infiltrated by crud.
