Yes: give her time. Continue to address her embouchure on a regular
basis, in the context of other important basic skills -- good rhythm,
articulation, finger dexterity, air support, and many others. With
young students especially, there is often a gestation period for con-
cepts, where repetition of the idea over time plants a seed in their
brain. Suddenly, sometimes many months later while practicing, an
epiphany occurs, and the concept spontaneously becomes a reality. Re-
peat the importance of a flat chin, and embouchure development, at each
lesson, but don't be fanatical about it. Teachers don't really "teach"
their students as much as they equip them with ideas that help the stu-
dents teach themselves.
