Talking about being considerate, I've often wondered why no one has ever
organized a rock concert in which the band has no P.A. system, but the
microphones for which go to a low-wattage FM transmitter to be picked up on
earphones connected to receivers by the participants (who get their 5 bucks
back when they turn the receivers in on leaving). Sorry for the
non-KLARINET (but musical, in any case) posting, but does anyone know of
cases in which that was tried? The velodrome at my university used to be
used for such concerts until the neighbors complained with sufficient
threats of violence that all future ones had to be cancelled.
