Subj: [kl] Instrument overcase and "gig bag"
Date: Tue, 24 Oct 2000 10:53:19 -0400

This is very interesting, but
I found that a very tough, and very
easy to use bag is the versatile
Lands' End Briefcase! go
to www.landsend.com and look for
"Square Rigger". Lifetime warrantee,
I ripped one slightly carrying a lead
brick (long story), and they replaced it,
even I told them how I did it.

I "retired" my "traditional" briefcase,
going to the 3 pocket version so I could
overnight clothes, toiletries, computer,
and paperwork in one bag that still looked
like a "briefcase." When I took the clarinet
back up again, I was *thrilled* at how nicely
the "traditional" briefcase protected by clarinet,
carried supplies, glasses, travel kit, and music.

There is a wide line of this stuff.

: I just purchased an Altieri double case cover that fits perfectly over
: my double clarinet case and has many wonderful pockets, plus optional
: backback straps. Altieri has a website at:
: The bag I got was originally designed for a Buffet
: double case, and
: this particular, "delux" model with the shoulder strap and
: the back-pack
: straps, cost under $125.
: I also use the little, collapsable, folding clarinet stand that I got
: from Muncy Music for way under $10. ANNIE
